Emerald mines have been found to date back as far as Queen Cleopatra. Emerald symbolism encompasses not only royalty but also wit, eloquence, and foresight. “The Jewel of Kings” also serves as the May birthstone. Whatever its supposed mystical properties, this gem has long been regarded as a superior jewel. Rare and beautiful, emerald’s stunning green colour has also brought it an honoured status amongst cultures world wide.
Our antique Victorian 9ct gold ring features a beautiful rectangular emerald sat along two fresh water pearls. The two outer green stones are glass. It is unknown why a real emerald has been paired with glass however as a set they compliment each other beautifully.
